Gibk, Marina Schmitz
The ever-growing degradation of the plants' kingdom at the urban environment plus the acknowledgement of the role of design in potentially intensifying the Anthropocene’s crisis are the embryo of the present study, which aims at speculatively designing for trees - more-than-human actors - in order to provoke the perception of our interdependence in this scenario. It breeds strategic design methodologies with speculative design practices, in order to identify preferable characteristics to design for trees, understanding how to design new metaphors for perceiving interdependence so human can generate alternatives for detouring and managing the crisis; learning how to respect the particularities of nature's language, in a way that does not anthropomorphize what it is of each being; encouraging the understanding of the current's scenario emergence state. The metaproject development assumes experimental practices as study premises, using prototype co-creation, debates and other practices which transgress the traditional ways of designing. The change of perspective towards trees had as a result in design the development of a product line of five critical-speculative artifacts centered on more-than-human interests. The brand and its products aim to provoke human critical questioning about the future and the interdependence of species on the planet.

The work presented here has the goal to deepen the knowledge around today’s IT (Information Technology) market, the reason for its notable deficit of workforce, and how it can impact the future of the work market. Identifying the superior education and its yet not fully democratic ingress as the key point of this problem, it’s been proposed the implementation of a system which, using the strategic design method and the co-design practice, looks for sustainable futures for the market, as well for the professional.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/13283</link>
Saint'Pierre, Isabelle Nedel Sibemberg
Breast cancer is the second most common type of oncological disease in Brazil, only staying behind skin cancer, and is also the one that causes the most cancer deaths in women (INCA, 2023). Many women with early-stage breast cancer may undergo breast-conserving surgery or a mastectomy to remove the tumor1. The main advantage of the conservative surgery is that it keeps most of the breast, but in some cases, due to the advancement of the tumor, it is necessary to have a mastectomy, with the complete removal of the breast. Such surgery has major impacts on the patient's life, and one of the main ones is the relation with their own image and feminine aspects, as the breast is an organ that "is related to femininity, pleasure, sensuality, gender difference, sexuality, in addition to being intensely linked to motherhood, as it is a source of food for the baby". (RAMOS; LUSTOSA, 2009, pg.86). Given this reality, it is initially observed that one of the existent services for assisting these women who are dealing with this loss is implemented through a tattoo technique, the "areola reconstruction tattoo", a type of tattoo that “paints” the breast of the patient to realistically reproduce the areola after mastectomy surgery to remove the cancer. The procedure serves as a solution to recover the self-esteem of women around the world. Taking this service as a reference, which can stimulate and transform women who go through this situation, it is intended to use the strategic design methodology to assist in the design of a product-service system, developed to facilitate access for those oncology patients to different professionals and/or services, aiming to rebuild their self-esteem.

The integration of children with low vision in common schools offers positive aspects to both sides, however, the school isn't always prepared to admit students with disabilities. At the scholar age, specifically children from ages 6 to 8, socializing through playing helps the child develop important social skills. The present study aims to stimulate the inclusion of low-vision children in common schools in moments of leisure, so that they are able to develop social skills. This is achieved through the use of the strategic design methodology, metaproject. The process' result is a product-service system made up of an activity kit which has a low vision-themed storybook as the main piece. The kit as a whole is composed of the book, pieces that make up masks and a teacher's guide, along with a site with additional features. The book brings out challenges that, along with the other materials, aim to stimulate children's inclusive thinking, so that they'll have more comprehension and bond with the low vision classmate.

Souza, Tiago Grandi
The presence of visual communication in current times is gradually more evident, technological and media advances have placed the image among the most relevant means of modern communication. Even so, the educational system in Brazil does not seem to keep up with the changes, little is learned about effective graphic representation in schools or colleges. This work discusses how to build a product-service system that explores applications of visual communication in an educational approach. The research and projectual phase will be carried out using the strategic design method, thus understanding the essential research themes, researching the correct production context and seeking diversified solutions. In order To develop the objectives, a brand and an illustrated book will be created, in addition to developments that will compose a kit, with the book being the main part of the system. In order to fulfill the work's objectives, the brand will communicate with a target audience of 16 to 20 years of age, so that it is possible to work with young people at a time of greater demand for visual knowledge, and thus present complex concepts in an intuitive way. but without compromising consistency. According to this need, the products seek to encourage the learning of visual language through the constructivist method, to create a more dynamic and interactive experience. The research presents its value generating a greater reach of critical visual education for the described audience, and its academic meaning, through the creative unfolding of the illustrated book together with the educational approach for a content that regularly is addressed in an extensive form and with greater emphasis on the text.

<link>http://repositorio.jesuita.org.br/handle/UNISINOS/12054</link>
Menegussi, Nicolli
Emotions are presented innately and universally in individuals. Experiencing &#13;
them is at the heart of the human being. Playing a decisive role with regard to a &#13;
healthy emotional and psychic development, especially in preschool age, when the &#13;
individual is forming his identity, personality and individuality. For this to occur, it is &#13;
necessary to understand and communicate the emotions themselves, entitled &#13;
emotional intelligence. The present work aimed to investigate the universe of &#13;
emotions, especially with regard to its diagnosis in childhood, in order to explore the &#13;
possibilities of strategic design in this theme. Given the complexity of the scenario &#13;
envisaged, we chose to use the Metaprojetual approach, given the conditions that &#13;
such methodology offers to gather, identify and analyze the information obtained, and &#13;
thus to make up a broad knowledge of the project problem. Based on the research &#13;
esplanade, it is suggested that the best way to present the chosen research object is &#13;
to insert it in the child's reality, in an analog and interactive way. For this, we used the &#13;
tools of active learning and positive design to enable the execution of child &#13;
autonomy, combined with motor and cognitive exploration when developing the &#13;
emotional intelligence of the little ones.

The Covid-19 pandemic spread fractures that were already very prevalent inside our society. Chronic inequalities were accentuated, public structures underfunded, and women and their families made vulnerable. In this context, design stands as a tool for social transformation that seeks alternative projection processes for a possible future for everyone in its processes. This project was a provocation to this new social prism. By correlating the concepts of design for innovation, agroecology and feminism, the aim was to develop through this project the activation of an urban garden on the Ponto de Cultura Quilombo do Sopapo, in Porto Alegre. Based on a care perspective, it seeks to strengthen the social fabric and new perspectives for the future in a human dimension.

It is in childhood that several social skills are acquired, essential for the child's socio-emotional development. Two of these skills considered essential for socializing in society are empathy and alterity, both related to presence and willingness to understand the other. Considering this, the present study aims to stimulate empathy and otherness in school-age children through toys and games, encouraging interaction between them, learning to respect differences, to prevent the intention to practice bullying. Using strategic design tools, this work was developed at the end of course work level. The result was a product-service system with a main toy and secondary elements that make up two journeys, one individual and the other collective, with children aged 5-7 years, in addition to informational resources for teachers, parents and guardians involved. The project was validated with 8 children and 12 professionals in the areas of health and education.

Food is much more than just nourishing a human being; it can change relationships (whether with other people or with oneself and one's body), represent the culture and history of a country, and generate debates about well-being, among other subjects. One field of study that addresses all these questions involving food is Food Design, a field of study that was created in the 90's and is slowly establishing itself in the work and academic environments. With the growth of Food Design in Brazil, an observatory was founded so that professionals and those interested in the area can have recourse in this initial moment of the field of study in the country. Based on the vision and concepts of strategic design, this work seeks to describe the construction of the observatory, as well as to generate through the questions collected a product service system that helps in this initial moment of the organization and of those interested in Food Design.

The high consumption of products in general led to an increase in pollution and, as a consequence, the planet's biodiversity has been suffering a lot. Faced with the situation, this study sought, through strategic design tools, to develop a system product-service that helps in the dissemination of information about sustainability in order to raise awareness and encourage a reduction in disposal, with a focus on packaging. This project aimed to help users who wish to have a more sustainable life to find what they need to start their journey, in addition to presenting the Zero Waste movement, which aims to stop producing waste. The developed service seeks to promote a channel to create a connection between small local brands in Porto Alegre that produce sustainable artifacts, with people who want to have a greener life, through UX and UI Design, in the development of an application. The current project application was developed with this connection in mind and was conceived based on surveys, interviews, prototyping and tests, making it a service with different actors involved and several important functions.

The pandemic period brought about several changes in the lives and routine of individuals around the world. Scientific researches carried out in 2020 indicate that depression, anxiety, feelings of sadness and nervousness were more present in the lives of Brazilians, and it is possible to perceive the influence of the pandemic context on the well-being and self-esteem of the population in general. In view of this, the present study intended, through tools and methodologies of strategic design, with a focus on emotional design and design for experience, to develop a project, at the conclusion of the course, that stimulates the self-esteem of women between 16 and 35 years old, causing improves their well-being. From these perspectives, the “Confié Skincare” product-service system was developed, which proposes the practice of self care through skincare, in order to promote a moment of pleasure and well-being to the target audience. The system is made up of customizable dermocosmetic products, promoting the tangibility of the system; by website, providing information about the products; and by profiles on social networks Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest, aiming to create connection and interaction with members of the public individually in each of the networks. All these elements are autonomous, but related, creating synergies to encourage women to practice self-care, promoting increased self-esteem and improved well-being.

Nichterwitz, Daniela Danni
Children's birthday parties are part of an economic sector that corresponds to 4.32% of Brazil's GDP. With billing of R$ 209 billion in 2013, it is estimated that the business for parties and events grows 14% per year. However, given the playful and relaxed nature of these rituals, little research has been carried out in this field. This work aimed to investigate the universe of birthday parties, as well as the experiences lived by users of these products and services, in order to explore the possibilities of action of Strategic Design in this area. In view of the complexity of this envisaged scenario, we decided to use the Metaprojectual approach, given the conditions that this methodology offers to gather, identify and analyze the information obtained, and, thus, compose a broad knowledge of the design problem. From the research carried out, it is suggested that birthday parties, as material and immaterial artifacts, are more than balloons with a decorated table in a place full of toys for children and snacks for parents: they carry a strong symbolic content. This content, which seems to be linked to the affirmation of our own identities. In this way, designing for experiences around the repertoire of events at a children's birthday party matches the need to offer subsidies to users have the autonomy to create their own value configurations, based on their personal capabilities
